Requirements and Installation

Shop by Brands extension supports both Community and Enterprise edition of Magento starting from version 2.3. The current version of Magento installed on your website can be found in the lower right corner of any backend page.

The extension has 3 separate ways of installation: via local Composer, by copying the code or using our repository.

1) Copy the code (ready-to-paste package);
2) Use local Composer;
3) Use MageWorx Repository.

Configuration

To start using the extension it is necessary to configure it first. Log into the Magento Admin panel and go to STORES ⟶ Configuration ⟶ MageWorx tab ⟶ Shop by Brands. The first thing you should do is to choose a product attribute you want to generate the brand pages for.

When you save the extension's config with selected brand attribute, the brand pages for each value of this attribute wll be generated automaatically.

General

  • Brand attribute - this setting define the product attribute you want to use as the brand attribute. The pages will be generated for each attribute's value when you save the extension config.

Please note that the brand attribute should be the drop-down type and the setting "Use in Layered Navigation" should be set to "Filterable (with results)" for the chosen attribute.

  • Base path - this setting defines the URL path, which will be the URL path for "All brands" page and it will be added to the URL of the brand's page.

  • Add Brands to Menu - this setting allows you to add or hide the "All brands" link to the top menu of your store.

  • Show Only Featured Brands In Menu - if enabled, the first 10 featured brands with the link to all brands page will be shown in the top menu. If disabled, first 10 brands in alphbetical order with the link to all brands page will be shown in the "All brands" menu.

  • Display Brand on Product page - this setting allows you to display a product's brand on a product page.

  • Product Page Display Mode - this setting allows you to choose a display mode, how a brand should be shown on a product page. Possible variants: brand title only, brand logo only, brand logo and title.

  • Brand Logo Min/Max Size (product) - these settings define a brand's logo size shown on a product page.

  • Display Brand on Category/Search page - this setting allows you to display a product's brand on a category & search results page.

  • Category Page Display Mode - this setting allows you to choose a display mode, how a brand should be shown on a category page. Possible variants: brand title only, brand logo only, brand logo and title.

  • Brand Logo Min/Max Size (category) - these settings define a brand's logo size shown on a category page.

All Brands

  • All Brands Link Title - this setting allows you to specify a custom link title, which leads your customers to the All brands page. This link is shown in the top menu.

  • Enable Featured Brands - this setting allows you to display the features brands section on the All brands page.

  • Brands Display Mode - this setting allows you to choose a display mode, how the brands are shown on the "All brands" page. Possible variants: brand title only, brand logo only, brand logo and title.

  • Brand Logo Min/Max Size - these settings define a brand's logo size shown on the "All brands" page.

Brand pages

  • Brand Logo Min/Max Size - these settings define a brand's logo size shown on the brand page.

  • Layout - this setting allows you to select one of available page layout.

  • Include Navigation - this setting allows you to add the layered navigation to the brand page.

  • Display Mode - this setting defines a display mode of the products list on the brand page.

  • Default Product Listing Sort By - this setting defines how the products should be sorted by default on the brand page.

  • Default Meta Robots - this setting specifies the default meta robots tag for the brand pages.

  • Add to Sitemap - this setting allows you to add the brand pages to MageWorx XML sitemap.
